.
Sustainability
My round wooden mirrors are made using the offcuts from my round windows. This means that there is literally no waste material from cutting these mirrors!
.
I do not use any chemical treatments on the wood, and I protect the frames using hardwax oils and paints from https://painteco.com/. This means my mirrors do not emit any VOCs, and are completely safe in any room of the house. These particluar mirrors have been finished with linseed oil.
.
Strength
My mirrors are made from the offcuts from my windows, what this means that the structure was actually made to be a window. This means that it has to be extremely strong. I use 2 layers of wood laminated together so the mirror frame just cant break, even if its dropped.
.
I use Titebond 3 to make the laminations of the mirrors. This is a waterproof glue that lasts as long as the wood, and at the end of its life is biodegradable. So this mirror can also be used in the bathroom with no risk of delamination due to humidity.
