Below the video I will explain each step of the process in detail
- First up you are going to need to cut your boards to size. I use Sketchup Free to work out the dimension of my circle in relation to the polygon that I will be cutting it from. To find the angle you need to set your mitre saw then just divide 180 by the number of sides of your shape. So a 6 sided shape is 180/6 = 30 degrees.
- Next check all the pieces align to create the polygon, make any cut adjustments if needed
- When the polygon is cut youre ready to glue. Use a ratchet strap to compress all the pieces together.
- When the glue is cured you can take the polygon out of the straps
- To make a circle strong it should be laminated. So I laminate two polygons to one another, making sure to stagger the butt joints.
- Then use a router with a compass attachment to cut your circles.
- And thats all there is to it!
